The purpose of the Career Pathways II (CP-II) program is to link education and occupational training to subsequent employment through a continuum of instruction combined with integrated support services.  

The program serves Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients between the ages of 18 to 24 who are unemployed or underemployed. Recipients who receive Family Assistance and/or Safety Net Assistance without age restrictions; and 16 to 17 year olds who are self-supporting individuals and heads of households who meet TANF 200% of federal poverty guidelines are eligible.  Our CP-II program consists of first and second tier healthcare occupational training along viable pathways for economic self-sufficiency.

The three training opportunities are designed to create transferable credentials along high demand healthcare occupational pathways. For example, with additional training, participants can become Licensed Practical Nurses or Laboratory Technicians; or they may choose more advanced degree programs to become Registered Nurses, Medical Technologists, or Clinical Laboratory Scientists. A full-time Career Pathways Coordinator assists trainees with the development of an individualized career plan, job placement assistance, and referrals to supportive services to overcome academic and non-academic barriers. Some of these barriers include; remedial assistance, financial aid for advanced degrees, maintaining current employment while pursuing advanced credentials, and assistance with child care and transportation.
