If you are unsure of your career goals, need an amazing resume that shows-off your skills, or want to upgrade your skills, you've come to the right place. We are part of the nation's largest publicly funded workforce system, and we are here to share our expertise with Erie County jobseekers, through personal appointments and workshops.

Boost Your LinkedIn Profile: What does your LinkedIn profile look life? Learn how to enhance your basic LinkedIn profile and why it is important for leveraging job calls, especially during this time.

Effective Strategies for Virtual Job Searching: Do you need assistance navigating the job search process during this economic slowdown? Learn tips to guide you in your  job search.

• Afternoon Networking Job Club: Meet others looking for work, share job-hunting experiences, build new contacts, and receive advice. Led by SUNY Erie Career Coaches Monique Carr and Rashada Stewart.

• Developing Your Personal Brand: Your first impression is often online. Whether you are trying to grow your network for a new job or just want to reintroduce yourself to your existing network, it’s important to consider your virtual presence. This workshop will provide you with practical steps on how to start building and communicating the value you can bring to potential employers.

• Effective Strategies for Virtual Job Searching: Do you need assistance navigating the job search process during this economic slowdown? This virtual workshop will offer tips and strategies to guide you in your job search. We’re here to help you succeed!

• Getting Better Results with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS): When a job candidate applies for a job online, most often, his or her resume is “parsed” or read by an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Learn how to get your resume to rank higher within ATS software so that it will have a better chance of being seen by human decision-makers. Taught by Denise Raymond-DiBlasi, Dean of Employment & Training Services.

• Goal Setting Strategies for Career Success:  What do you want to achieve for yourself over the next year? If you’re having trouble following through on activities to get you on track, join us for some goal setting strategies.

• How to Make Your Resume Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Friendly:  Learn how to adapt your resumes to Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and identify relevant competencies for a position. Taught by Denise Raymond-DiBlasi, M.S., CWDP, Dean of Employment and Training Services.

• LinkedIn Basics for Jobseekers: You created a basic LinkedIn account – now what? Learn how to build an inviting and engaging LinkedIn profile to network and attract employers.

• Orientation for Career Center Jobseekers: Receive information about the cost-free resources/services available to Erie County/WNY jobseekers at our certified career centers. This virtual workshop includes a brief presentation, opportunities to ask questions, job search tips, and one-on-one time with a Career Coach. • Practical Steps for a Career Change: Whether you are going back to work after your seasonal layoff ends, are in a career transition, or feel stuck in your current position, this workshop will help you learn some strategies for a career change. Learning objectives: 1) Contemplate a new job vs a new career; 2) Consider why you want to change careers; 3) Reflect about what your future self wants to do; 4) Identify small things that you can start now; and 5) Unpack situations occupying space in your life that are distracting you from making changes. Taught by Denise Raymond, M.S., CWDP, Dean of Employment & Training Services at SUNY Erie College.

• Resumes and Cover Letters with Monique: Do you need a resume or a resume makeover? Let’s get to work! Taught by Monique Carr, M. Ed., SUNY Erie Career Coach.

• Time Management: Learn how to manage your time effectively to accomplish what is most important to you, meet deadlines, while reducing and managing stress. 

• Tips for Video-Based Interviews: Learn how to switch gears from in-person interviews to virtual interviews.

• Trade Act Information Session: This virtual workshop will review Trade Act (TAA) program benefits, processes, and services, including extremely important time sensitive deadlines. Only workers from companies certified with petitions should attend this workshop. Taught by Karen Daube, M.Ed., SUNY Erie Trade Act Specialist and Job Developer II.
